  • IELTS writing task 1 এ কিভাবে Introduction লিখতে হয়?
প্রথম এবং প্রধান কাজ হচ্ছে প্রশ্নকে Paraphrase করা ।যদি গ্রাফ এ time period এবং country name থাকে সেগুলোকে Introduction এ নিয়ে আসা । গ্রাফের কোন data introduction এ আনা যাবে না।
নিচে কিছু example দেখি
Example-1
Question: The graph below shows the number of shops that closed and the number of new shops that opened in one country between 2011 and 2018.
summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
প্রশ্নের চিত্রে line graph দেয়া আছে তাই গ্রাফ এর জায়গায় line graph লিখতে পারি। এখানে যদি bar chart/pie chart থাকত তাহলে আমরা bar/pie chart লিখতাম।
shows এর synonym হচ্ছে displays/illustrates/represents/provides information about . আমাদের যেকোন একটা synonym দিয়ে practice করলেই হবে কারন একটা IELTS পরীক্ষায় একটা writing task 1 ই আসে ।
shop এর synonym store
One এর synonym Single
closed এবং opened verb হিসেবে ব্যাবহার করা হয়েছে । একি word ing যোগ করে noun হিসেবে ব্যাবহার করা যায়।
between 2011 and 2018 কে from the years of 2011 to 2018 লিখা যায়।
Now, the introduction:
The line graph represents the number of stores closing and opening in a single country from the years of 2011 to 2018.

Question: The chart below shows the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls in the UK, divided into three categories, from 1995-2002.

প্রশ্নে Chart ছিল bar chart
shows=represents
the total number of minutes (in billions) of telephone calls= total duration of telephone conversations
divided into three categories= categorized into three groups
from 1995-2002 = between the years of 1995 and 2002
Introduction:
The bar chart represents the total duration of telephone conversations in the UK, categorized into three groups, between the years of 1995 and 2002.
Example-3
The charts below show the average percentages in typical meals of three types of nutrients, all of which may be unhealthy if eaten too much.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
প্রশ্নে Chart ছিল pie chart
show=represents
three types of nutrients=চিত্রে দেয়া আছে Sodium, Saturated fat, and added sugar
may be unhealthy=may be harmful to health
eaten too much=over consumed
Introduction:
The pie charts represent the average consumption of sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar by meal. All three categories may be harmful to health if over-consumed.
  • Writing task 1 এর overview কিভাবে লিখতে হয়?
Overview এ সবসময় গ্রাফের সাধারন বৈশিষ্ট্য লিখতে হয়। গ্রাফের দিকে একবার তাকালে যে change টা চোখে পড়বে তাই Overview এ লিখতে হয়। গ্রাফের কোন data এখানে দেয়া যাবে না। Overview এর শুরুতে Overall লিখা উচিত।
Overview কিভাবে লিখতে হয় নিচে কিছু Example দেখি
Example-1:

চিত্রে দেখা যায় Closed shops এর লাইন Opened shops এর লাইন এর চেয়ে বড়, দুইটাই fluctuate করছে, শুধু নির্দিষ্ট ২টা Time ২০১১ এবং ২০১৫ তে Closed shops ছোট। এই ব্যাপারটা লিখে দিলেই ৭+ পাওয়ার মত Overview লিখা হয়ে যাবে।
overview:
Overall, the number of shops that closed and the number that opened both saw large fluctuations during the specified period of time. However, closing outpaced opening in all year expect for 2011 and 2015.
এখন চিত্রের দিকে তাকালে দেখবে চিত্রের সাধারন বৈশিষ্ট্যগুলো এখানে Explain করা হয়ে গেছে।
Example-2:

চিত্রে দেখা যায় Local calls সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। কিন্তু প্রথম থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত Mobile call এ কথা বলার পরিমান অনেক বাড়ছে।
Overall, local calls made over fixed lines remained the most common calls during the time period. However, it was mobile calls that showed the greatest increase.
Example-3:



চিত্রে দেখা যায় Sodium এবং saturated fat ডিনারের সময় সবচেয়ে বেশি খাওয়া হয়েছে। যদিও snacks এর সময় Added sugar বেশি খাওয়া হয়েছে।
Overall, the intake of sodium and saturated fat is higher at dinner than any other meal. However, added sugar is eaten most in snacks.
  • Writing task 1 body paragraph কিভাবে লিখতে হয়?
Body paragraph এ ডাটাগুলিকে গ্রুপ করে explain করতে হয়। যেমন-যদি প্রশ্নে তিনটি দেশ নিয়ে আলোচনা করা হয় তাহলে দুটি দেশকে একটি body paragraph এ ব্যাখ্যা করে, আরেকটি body paragraph এ তৃতীয় দেশটি ব্যাখ্যা করলেই হয়। এরকমভাবে যেকোন কিছু নিয়ে group করা যায়। Group কিভাবে করতে হয়?
যেগুলো increase হয় সেগুলো একটি গ্রুপে, যেগুলো decrease হয় এবং যেগুলোর কোন পরিবর্তন হয় না সেগুলো একটা গ্রুপ। যদি গ্রাফগুলি increasing or decreasing trend follow করে তাহলে একটি body paragraph এ increasing, আরেকটি body paragraph এ decreasing trend explain করলেই band 7 পাওয়ার মত Body paragraph লিখা যায়।
Body paragraph এ গ্রাফের data লেখার ক্ষেত্রে exact number লেখা উচিত না। Number এর আগে সবসময় approximately, nearly, around, about to, just under এই ধরনের শব্দগুলি ব্যবহার করা উচিত। একই ধরনের sentence এর repetition না করে sentence structure ভিন্নতা আনা উচিত। যেমন- present or past indefinite, Continuous, Perfect tense, compound, complex, conditional or passive sentence ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে। এ নিয়ে পরে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা করব।
Example-1
Sodium consumption is highest at dinner and second highest at lunch, around 43% and 29% of total sodium consumption respectively. The proportions of this type of nutrient taken in at snack time and breakfast are the same, both at 14%. Dinner and lunch also account for the largest and the second largest proportions of total saturated fat intake respectively, at 37% and 26%. However, a greater proportion of this type is eaten at snack time, at 21% than at breakfast, at 16%.
Compared with the other two nutrients added sugar has a relatively low consumption level at dinner, at 23%. It is snacks that are the greatest source of sugar intake, at 42%. However, it is consumed least at breakfast, at only 16%.
প্রশ্নের চিত্রে Sodium,saturated fat and added sugar এই তিন ধরনের nutrients ছিল। Sodium ও saturated fat নিয়ে প্রথম body paragraph টি লিখা হয়েছে । Added sugar এর information গুলি body paragraph-2 এ explain করা হয়েছে।
